There are two steps to the Foundation Drawing classes - Line and Tone and
Drawing to Paint. Each class will cover basic drawing guidelines, however
absolute beginners are encouraged to do the Line and Tone workshop first.

LINE & TONE
This foundation drawing class is pitched for the beginner but also valuable for practising artists wanting to review basics.
I have an art school trained background where drawing was a strongly practised discipline. My workshops primarily focus on observational drawing using set exercises - fundamentally exploring line and tone.
The classes may appeal to those who enjoyed art perhaps in their school years, but haven't picked up a pen or pencil for some time, or have dabbled now and then but feel they would like to get a good grounding in the basics. Individual skills can vary in beginners, however the exercises allow time to develop an understanding of techniques and may reveal a personal style. People can focus on favourite subjects, once they warm up, and classes are small enough so that everyone gets personal attention and advice throughout the session.
One day workshop $50 per person - includes some materials and morning & afternoon tea. Maximum 12 people per class. (usually run between 10am to 3pm).
Weekend, week day or evening classes can be arranged.

DRAWING TO PAINT
Most students naturally move towards painting at some stage. Those that have been introduced to some observational drawing, will find those skills valuable when composing a painting.
The classes include a strong focus on composition, an important consideration before beginning to paint.
The objective of the workshop is to enable students to feel more confident in utilising drawing and compositional knowledge to successfully compose and plan a painting in any medium.
One day workshop $50 per person
( 20% discount for Line and Tone workshop attendees).
Includes some materials and morning & afternoon tea. Maximum 12 people per class.
(usually run between 10am to 3pm).
Weekend, week day or evening classes can be arranged.
